Uri Dotan Will Participate In A New Exhibition At The Jim Kempner Fine Art Gallery In NY 

People, Places, Things: three consecutive group shows that will take place over a period of three to four months at the Jim Kempner Fine Art gallery in NY. 

First in the series, People, will feature figurative work in all media by a wide range of renowned and emerging artists including Diane Arbus, Vincent Arcilesi, Bo Bartlett, Stephen Balkenhol, Chuck Close, Sherman Drexler, Lucian Freud, Alex Katz, Elizabeth Peyton, Kiki Smith, John Wesley, Vik Muniz, Till Freiwald, Zwelethu Mthelethu, Nikki Lee, Kehinde Wiley, Jim Torok, Mary Carlson, Uri Dotan, Ligorano/Reese, Steve Giovinco, Jonathan Santlofer, Robert Selwyn, Gianfranco Gorgoni, Julie Moos, and others. The dates of the exhibition are January 17th through February 23. Opening reception on January 17th from 18:00-20:00. 

Highlights of the show will include Girl Sitting, a starkly realistic etching by Lucian Freud, Self-Portrait (2004) a complete set of four Holograms by Chuck Close and Crossing, a mesmerizing, time-based video projection by New York based Israeli artist Uri Dotan. Also to be featured are Bosie, one of Elizabeth Peyton’s first and highly acclaimed prints, a rare self-portrait painting by Bo Bartlett, and Bush Administration ‘mug shot’ prints from Ligorano/Reese’s controversial portfolio Line Up, which has received a great deal of media attention since its inclusion in a recent exhibition of print portfolios at the New York Public Library.
