Indianapolis Museum Of Art Announces Major Design Initiatives

 

The Indianapolis Museum of Art announced several major design initiatives, including: The acquisition of 37 new works, 19 of which come from the Liliane and David M. Stewart Collection in Montreal. Liliane Stewart, with her late husband David, amassed one of the most important international twentieth and twenty-first-century design collections in North America. The creation of the IMA Design Center, a retail space opening in November 2008 which will offer contemporary, sustainable design products for sale.

NYC Museums & Galleries Join To Celebrate Asian Contemporary Art

Over 100 artists will present their works at 60 special events at 46 museums and NYC galleries during the fifth Asian Contemporary Art Week (ACAW), March 15 to 24, featuring receptions, exhibition viewings, screenings, artist conversations and walkthroughs throughout New York City. ACAW aims to promote increased public awareness of the richness and diversity of contemporary Asian art.

Reuters War Photos Exhibition At The Idea Generation Gallery

Idea Generation launches new gallery with an exhibition of unflinching images from Reuters to mark the fifth anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. Through five years of brutal war, a team of 100 Reuters correspondents, photographers, cameramen and support staff have strived to bring continuous news to the world from the most dangerous conflict in the history of war reporting. A powerful new exhibition, opening on 9th April at the Idea Generation Gallery in Shoreditch, provides a dramatic retrospective of the war through the testimony of Reuters journalists on the frontline.
