The third release from duo Mike Ballard and Salman Agah in the Skatebook series is now available. Based mostly on photography documenting skateboarding history, it’s a definite nostalgic experience for old school heads and very educational for the new. An interesting chapter includes the Bart Simpson parody, with him skating some of the most well known spots, as we all know how much of a skate brat Bart is and features with some of the all time greats including Lance Mountain and Ed Templeton. The hardbound book is now on sale at the Skatebook website for $19.95 which is a killer deal.

Rock Band and Guitar Hero Instruments Will Finally Play Nice Together on PS3
After bikering between Activision and Harmonix meant you couldn’t use Guitar Hero’s guitars with Rock Band on the PS3 (’cause Activision wanted moolah for Harmonix to release the patch), Sony has grabbed them both firmly by the nuts and said “everybody’s instruments must work with everybody’s games.”
This means that Guitar Hero: World Tour’s insane kit —guitars and drums—will work with Rock Band 2’s and vice versa (and Konami’s Rock Revolution series). Some of the advanced game-specific features might not work (like maybe the touch features on GH:WT’s guitar), but basic compatibility will be there. They’re working on making stuff already out there (GH3 and RB) play nice too. All I have to say is you rock, Sony.

This Is How People Break Their Cameras
An insurance group in the UK just released statistics data on how their customers break their cameras, almost all of which are hilarious scenarios if you try and picture it happening.
• 1/6 blame children or dogs
• 3/100 run over their camera with a car
• 3/4 drop their cameras onto a “hard surface”, into water, or by falling onto it and using it to cushion their fall
More stats on people who fall over:
• 1/10 “fell over” when taking shots, “often into water.”
• 9/100 fall with their camera in their pocket or in their hand
One photographer reported: ‘I was taking some shots in the garden. As I changed the lens I lost my grip on the camera. I tried to cushion its fall by sticking out my foot but ended up “volleying” it across the concrete slabs and down the steps.’
