Yves Saint Laurent “A Giant of Couture for 45 Years” Has Passed Away Aged 71

Yves Saint Laurent first made a massive impression on the fashion world in 1958 when he became the successor to Christian Dior and enjoying instant success with his Trapeze collection, before embarking on his own label in 1962. Yves Saint Laurent’s long and fruitful career came to an end in 2002 and was most recognized for turning women’s fashion around making pants the core of womens fashion along with peacoats and safari jackets not to forget “le smoking”, a French term for the man’s tuxedo jacket, leopard prints, trench coats to mention a few fashions which transceded the world of style. The names to adorn the ‘YSL’ initials role of your tongue with the likes of Catherine Deneuve, Bianca Jagger, Helmut NewtonMarie-Hélène de Rothschild amongst them. May the legend of Yves Saint Laurent live on.

Read much more over at NY Times, and I am sure a many others will be paying tribute to a legend of style and fashion today.
