Art and much much more!

Malcolm Mclaren’s ‘Shallow’ And Creative Time

44 1/2 is a project brought to Times Square by Creative Time and MTV in order to bring art to the NYC monument. Originally started in 2001, this June will see the exclusive US premier of Sex Pistols creator, Malcolm McLaren’s new video project ‘Shallow’ on MTV’s Giant HD open air screen between 44th and 45th Streets.

Creative Time’s 44 1/2 (a project where CT and MTV team up to bring art to Times Square) is back. The program, which began in 2001, is about the unleash the wrath of British sensationalist and creator of the Sex Pistols to the crossroads of the world.

“Shallow, a series of short video works by Malcolm McLaren, consists of individual film clips, sourced from erotic films from the late 1960s, played in ultra slow motion for the duration of five minutes each. McLaren deliberately selects moments in the films immediately preceding or following sex scenes—extending a handful of frames into carefully composed and nearly still portraits of seduction and artifice.”

You can catch the screenings from June 25th through to mid August. Schedules and info is listed here.
