Yael Bergstein – Studio Magazine editor- Is Finally Out – Is There A Buyer?

Yael Bergstein, the editor of the veteran art journal Studio is (finally) out of the team. Bergstein took the job some four years ago and replaced Sara Breitberg Semel, the long-time editor of Studio. Since then -came the falldown of this great magazine.

Her ‘achievements’ did not manage to prevent a sharp drop in the number of subscribers from around 1,500 four years ago, to around 300 today, according to some close to the editorial team.

In addition, the magazine, which was published 11 times a year during Breitberg Semel’s tenure (the 11th issue was an index), decreased to around half that number and sometimes even less, and the index was canceled.

Well, I sure hope someone will bring back to life this (used to be) great magazine, we need something like this in Israel!

For further reading (though in Hebrew…) check out the full article at Haaretz.
