Jabra offers SP700 Bluetooth car/desk speakerphone with FM transmitter

Jabra’s latest Bluetooth gadget, the orbital-shaped SP700, has landed and offers the best of both worlds – handsfree talking in the car and at your desk. With all the new handsfree laws in effect, Bluetooth devices are becoming more the norm, and Jabra, with its SP700, is looking to take advantage of that.

This Bluetooth speakerphone easily clips on to your car’s sun visor for instant handsfree and wirefree talking while driving. The SP700 comes with a built-in FM transmitter so you can ‘forward’ phone calls directly to the car’s sound system. And just because you are using a handsfree device doesn’t mean you have to forgo caller ID – the SP700 will actually display the caller’s phone number on a car’s RDS compatible FM radio display.

The Bluetooth enabled SP700 has a battery that offers up to 14 hours of talk time or 10.5 days of standby. Internally, it uses DSP to implement both noise and echo cancellation and offers a night driving mode and an auto off mode to help save battery power.

Other features of note on the speakerphone include:

  • Autopairing, voice dialing, last number redial, call reject, mute
  • Operation in 10 languages
  • Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP support
  • Lightweight – weighs 85 grams (3 oz.)
  • 127mm x 62mm x 17mm (5.0″ x 2.4″ x 0.7″)
  • 85g (3 oz)

The Jabra SP700 should be available later this month.
