Kate Moss gets Midas’s touch for $2.75 million
When you utter impressive gilded words like “someone is worth his/her weight in gold,” you have to wonder how much that actually adds up to in hard cash. Well, now Kate Moss knows the value of her weight in gold, as British sculptor Marc Quinn is all set to unveil his latest creation of a $2.75 million (£ 1.5 million) solid gold statue of this supermodel. Touted to be the golden gal of the fashion industry, Kate weighs about 110 pounds in her dazzling statuette form. Quinn is the same artist who shaped the Sphinx, a painted bronze statue of Moss in a somewhat provocative yoga pose. Dubbed Siren, his new golden girl is supposed to be the largest gold statue since the ancient Egyptian era. Scheduled to be on display from October 4th through January 25th, you can book your flight to London to catch a glimpse of gilded Kate Moss at Nereid Gallery of the British Museum.
